Balance Returns to Backfield

Lance Smith was reinstated to the roster this afternoon one hour before practice began. Given PJ's late season swoon last year, Smith should help to share the duties if his not guilty plea to misdemeanor charges prove convincing to the judge. Sorry to see such a talented back underachive in practice and apparently life--hopefully this stands as his wake-up call.

The 2007 Badger football season begins today with a 3:50pm practice. The first five days will include single sessions before giving way to two-a-days. Few seasons have begun with more excitement and anticipation, and Sept. 1st (the home opener) is less than four weeks away! A stellar freshman class will be combed over in search of help in the secondary, on special teams, and perhaps on the depth chart at wideout. The O-line minus Joe Thomas may be better overall should the LT position be solidified. The QB battle also promises to be a good one with a decision expected by 8/22, ten days before the first game. My money's on TD.
