UW-GB Game Blog Second Half

2nd Half

20:00 The starting five for the Badgers are on the floor. Chappel hits a jumper. Chappel really didn't get to much PT in the first half.

18:39 Steisma blocks an alley-oop dunk and is called for the foul. The replay shows all ball and a great play.

18:01 UW-GB is within 11 (47-36). The UW offense has really stalled the last 10 minutes. The Badgers are settling for the outside shot instead of driving or feeding the post.

17:05 Taylor hits 2 of 2 FTs after driving to draw the foul. See how easy that was?

Oral Roberts is leading Kansas by 5 midway through the second half. This is one of the favorites to make the final four? Do Bucknell and Bradley ring a bell?

15:10 Tucker hits a 3. But the Badgers are doing too much standing on offense, not enough movement. 52-38

14:41 The enforcer causes a tie-up on D. Possession arrow UW. Relentness.

14:09 Bohannon gets a great transition bucket. The play started with Krabbenhoff cleaning the boards. A minute later the Enforcer hits a three. Badgers up by 17.

12:27 My boy Bohannon hits a three. There is plenty of room on the bandwagon. All aboard!

Oral Roberts is now up by 10 AT KANSAS with 6 minutes left. Vegas didn't have a line on the game, so it is safe to say that Kansas was considered a huge favorite. Bill Self can recruit, but that is only half the battle.

11:24 Landry drives the lane, makes the shot and gets fouled. But he misses the FT.

10:49 Bohannon scraps for a rebound fighting off a Phoenix (or is it Phoeni?) and converts the lay-up.

9:49 The Polar Bear (sorry Coach Lav) sets up shop on the 3 pt line and knocks it down. The Badgers have pushed the lead out to 20.

8:05 Tucker hits the shot in traffic and is fouled. HE MISSES THE FT.

6:02 This is the 5th time Tucker has faced the Phoenix. You don't see that too often.

Since this game is basically over, I have switched over to the ORU-Kansas game (only available on ESPN Full Court - order now for only two payments of $55). ORU is up by 7 with 17 seconds left. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE. How does a top 3 team lose its second game of the season, at home no less. ORU pulls off the stunner, 77-71. Bill Self loses to his old team. Was KU on the cover of SI? If so, the jinx has claimed another victim.

3:33 Ok, back to the Badger game. They are up 73-59 with three and a half left.

2:12 Badgers up 77-61. For those of you wondering, the line was Badgers by 18. I say that purely for entertainment purposes only.

Badgers are 73-5 at home the last five years.

Badgers win 79-62. Tucker is the high man with 18. Taylor and Flowers with 12.

Can Anyone name those 5 losses?

(no peeking)

I can get 4, but think they might be including another game that would have been from the 6th year

This is off the top of my head:

Butler (not so sure about this one, this might have been outside the five year window)
Temple
Wake Forest
Illinois (which broke the streak)

Can't think of the 5th...

Illinois 05
Illinois 06
Wake 03
NDSU 06

And then the kicker is the Temple game in the 01-02 season (Bo's first)

Technically that is 6 years ago
06-07
05-06
04-05
03-04
02-03

That must be what they meant, I guess

Butler was under Brad "The Triangle and Two is super confusing" Soderberg and was also the game where I developed my man crush on Thad Matta.
